Day 1: Arrival at Delhi
Flight from London Heathrow Airport to Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport via Dubai International Airport
Arrive at Delhi's International Airport at 0855 hrs by EK 510 flight. Welcome to India, Meet and Greet at the Airport, and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Hotel check-in time is at 1400 Hrs. Delhi is the capital city of India and is regarded as the heart of the nation. The city is popular for its enriched culture and heritage. The city hosts some famous historical monuments and is developing over time. The influence of religious diversity can be seen in the city along with the cultural impact of the Mughal, the ancient Indian and the British. There are many beautiful gardens in the city that provide opportunities to walk leisurely in the midst of greenery. The Rest of the day free.

Day 2: In Delhi
After breakfast, proceed for a full day tour of Old & New Delhi.
Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat, which is located on the banks of the river Yamuna. This is Mahatma Gandhi's Memorial, where he was cremated following his assassination in January 1948. The memorial lies in the midst of landscaped gardens and is made of a simple square platform of black marble inscribed with his last words Hey Ram.
Drive pass Red Fort the 17th-century imposing fortress built in red sandstone, is surrounded by a huge boundary wall 33m high. Inside are exquisite palaces and beautiful gardens. Board the 'CycleRickshaw' for a unique experience from the Red Fort, through "Chandni Chowk" or Silver Street, experiencing the sights and sounds of this very busy avenue, heading west from the Fort.
Humayun's Tomb, Delhi is the first of the grand dynastic mausoleums that were tobecome synonyms of Mughal architecture with the architectural style reaching its zenith 80 years later atthe later Taj Mahal. Humayun's Tomb stands within a complex of 27.04 ha. that includes other contemporary, 16th century Mughal garden-tombs such as Nila Gumbad, Isa Khan, Bu Halima, Afsarwala,Barbers Tomb and the complex where the craftsmen employed for the Building of Humayuns Tomb.
Qutub Minar, the landmark of Delhi, a huge tower of victory started in 1199 and completed in 1368. The Minar is 72.5m high with a diameter at the base 14.4m and 2.7m at the top. Later proceed to Rashtrapati Bhawan (Drive Pass) once the Viceroy's residence and now the official residence of thePresident of India. Designed by Lutyens, it combines western and eastern styles the dome reflects the Buddhist stupa, the chhatris Hindu and the graceful colonnades very British. It has 340 rooms. The India Gate commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in the 1st world war. 13516names of British and Indian soldiers killed in the Afghan War of 1919 are engraved on the arch andfoundations. Under the arch, glows the Amar Jawan Jyoti flame commemorating Indian armed forceslosses in the Indo-Pakistan
war of 1971.

Day 3: Delhi Agra (Drive: 210 Kms / 4 Hrs. Approx.)
Breakfast at Hotel. Later drive to Agra and upon arrival in Agra check in to your hotel. Agra is a city offering a discovery of the beautiful era. Agra has a rich history, reflected in its numerous monuments dotted in and around the city. The earliest citation for Agra comes from the mythological era,where the epic Mahabharata refer Agra as Agravana meaning paradise in Sanskrit. Ptolemy, the famoussecond century A.D. geographer, was the first person who referred Agra with its modern name. TheModern Agra was founded by Sikandar Lodi, ruler of Lodi dynasty in 16th century. It was when ShahJahan descended the Mughal throne that Agra reached the zenith of architectural beauty.
Agra Fort Agra Fort was originally a brick fort and the Chauhan Rajputs held it. It was mentioned forthe first time in 1080 AD when a Ghaznavide force captured it. Sikandar Lodi (1487-1517) was the firstSultan of Delhi who shifted to Agra and lived in the fort. He governed the country from here and Agraassumed the importance of the second capital. He died in the fort in 1517 and his son, Ibrahim Lodi, heldit for nine years until he was defeated and killed at Panipat in 1526. He built several palaces, wells and amosque in the fort during his period.
Later visit Itmad Ud-Daulah Tomb also called Baby Taj has a special place in the chronicles of bothhistoryas well as architecture. This is precisely because Itmad ud Daula is the very first tomb in India thatis entirely made out of Marble. This is actually a mausoleum that overlooks the River Yamuna and is atomb of Mir Ghiyas Beg, a minister in the court of Shah Jahan.

Day 4: Agra Jaipur (Drive: 235 Kms / 5 hrs. approx.)
Enjoy Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. The Gate of the Taj Open at 5:30 AM. You must leave the Hotel at 5:30 AM
Enjoy your visit during Sunrise of this World Famous Taj Mahal Overlooking the River Yamuna, theTaj Mahal is a classic example of Mughal architecture, with the Taj itself built as a mausoleum at thenorthern end of an extensive formal walled garden designed in the charbagh style and structured on theIslamic theme of paradise. The whole site was built by Shah Jahan between ad 1632 and 1653 as thefinal resting place of his favourite wife Arjumand Bann Begum (also known as Mumtaz Mahal) who died inad 1631 shortly after giving
birth to their fourteenth child. Upon his death in ad 1666, Shah Jahan wasburied alongside his wife in the Taj. Post visit return to the Hotel for breakfast.
Post breakfast check out from the Hotel and start your drive to Jaipur en route visit Fatehpur Sikri Fatehpur Sikri is a beautiful and deserted medieval city, built by Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great inthe 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire. It was mysteriously abandoned 13 years later.
Today, it is perfectly preserved as a ghost city built at the height of the empires splendour. The name ofthe city is derived from the village called Sikri which occupied the spot before. An Archaeological surveyof India excavation from 1999 to 2000 indicated that there was a habitation, temples and commercialcentres here before Akbar built his capital. The region was settled by Sungas following their expansion. Post visit, continue drive to Jaipur and Upon arrival check into your hotel Jaipur known as the Pink City of India, due to the dominant colour scheme of its buildings. It is also known as the Paris of India It is located 268km from the national capital, New Delhi. Jaipur was foundedin 1727 by the Rajput Ruler Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer, after whom the city is named. It was one of the earliest planned cities of modern India, designed by Vidyadhar Bhattacharaya during the BritishColonial period, the city served as the capital of Jaipur State. After independence in 1947, Jaipur wasmade the capital of the newly formed state of Rajasthan.

Day 5: In Jaipur
After Breakfast and then proceed for a full day city tour of Jaipur visiting first Amber Fort by Jeepsituated 130m high with the Aravalli hills around and 11 kms north of Jaipur. Amber Fort is known for itsartistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amber Palace. On the way must try jaipursfamouse lassi wala on Afternoon visit the The Maharajahs City Palace A delightful blend of Mughal and traditionalRajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It housesShri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.
Jantar Mantar This is the largest and best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II indifferent parts of the country.
Hawa Mahal The ornamental facade of this Palace of Winds is a landmark in Jaipur. Its five storeystructure of pink sandstone encrusted with fine tellies work and balconies has 953 inches and windows. It was built in 1799 by Pratap Singh and was a royal grandstand for palace women.

Day 6: Jaipur Delhi (Drive: 265 kms / 5 hrs approx)
Leisurely Breakfast at the Hotel.

Day 7: Delhi Colombo Airport / Habarana
Early morning transfer to Delhi Airport to catch the flight for Colombo.

Day 8: Habarana / Sigiriya Rock /Hiriwaduna
You will proceed to climb Sigiriya Rock. It's best to start the climb during the early morning hours toavoid the heat of the sun, (Approximate Travel time 25-30 Minutes) Referred by locals as the EighthWonder of World, this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archeological importance andattracts thousands of tourists every year. Sigiriya rock plateau, formed from magma of an extinctvolcano, is 200 meters higher than the surrounding jungles.

A tour to Hiriwadunna - a beautiful village shaded on either side by a dry zone shrub forest, with unpavedgravel paths and humble village folk - will give you a chance to witness the environment of a typical SriLankan village life. A ride on a bullock cart along a dirt track and through rice paddies down to thepicturesque Hiriwadunna Lake will leave you with a sense of peacefulness. Day 9: Habarana /Minneriya national park/ Polonnaruwa
Proceed on an early morning jeep safari at Minneriya National Park around 5:30 a.m. Minneriya is yet another haven for the elephants that migrate from surrounding jungles to enjoy the lushgrass fields on the banks of the Minneriya reservoir, during the dry season. Reports of elephant sightingsrange from a mere 100 to an astounding 700. The central feature of the park is the ancient MinneriyaTank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe theelephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come tofish in the shallow waters.

Sri Lanka has always been renowned for its spices. Over 15 different spices call Sri Lanka home andmany of them are traded in the international spice market. Cinnamon especially is endemic to Sri Lanka,and highest quality true cinnamon can be obtained here. All offer free tours of their gardens with anEnglish-speaking guide who can explain the merits and health properties of herbs, spices and plantsincluding cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, coffee, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, aloe vera,iriweriya and the henna plant. Not all spices are grown in a single garden, of course, since variousclimates and soil types are necessary for cultivation of the different spices. The gardens introduce you tothe different spices in Sri Lanka and their uses.

Kandy, perhaps is Sri Lankas most beautiful town. Set 488 meters above sea level, Kandy is Sri Lankasmost visited place after Colombo. Kandy is the English name for the city of Maha Nuvara(Senkadagalapura) in the centre of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of SriLanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropicalplantations, mainly tea. Kandy is one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka; it is both an administrativeand religious city. It is the capital of the Central Province and also of Kandy District. Kandy is the home ofThe Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) one of the most venerable places for the Buddhistcommunity of Sri Lanka and all around the world. It was declared a world heritage by the UNESCO in1988. There are a number of shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you will see rare paintings,frescoes, and stone carvings from the Kandyan period Proceed to Kandy Temple of the tooth.
In the crown jewel of the city, Kandy is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of theTooth. The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lankas most important Buddhist relic a tooth of the Buddha. The entire temple complex, from peaked tiled roofs to white walls with large airywindows, is built using classical Kandyan architecture.

Day 11: Kandy /Nuwera Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Take a train journey from Peradeniya Railway Station to Nanu Oya railway station (Please note that - the train ride is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed in advance) The train routes in Sri Lanka are some of the most beautiful in the world. Travelers dream of taking thetrain to the hill country, through old pine forests and foggy tea estates. The Nanu Oya to Badulla trainjourney is one of the most scenic, epic train journeys in Sri Lanka. The views on both sides of the rail arebreathtaking. The train winds through the mountains overlooking farms and villages and of course vasttea plantations. The train also passes through a multiple of tunnels. Nuwara Eliya can be reached from Colombo via Kandy, which is the gateway to the Central Highlands ofthe island. Colombo-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya is the most scenic highland motor road of Sri Lanka. Though thecity of Nuwara Eliya has no Railway station, the highland railway line that winds past the city of Nanu Oyamakes the journey by train one of the most scenic and memorable experiences. Nuwara Eliya which is atan elevation of 1890 meters above the sea level is the highest city in Sri Lanka and it lies beneath thetallest peak of the island, Pidurutalagala or Mount Pedro (2555 meters).
